Matthew Durrant has lived in Salem for the last 5 years, where he, his wife and their neighbors built their homes together through a sweat equity program. He was raised in Sandy, UT and lived there until he met and married his wife, Rachael. Together they moved to Spanish Fork, where they lived for 5 years before moving to Salem. They have been married now for 10 years and have 5 beautiful children.
Matthew received a bachelor's degree in marriage and family studies from Brigham Young University-Idaho. He currently works to help people with all kinds of disabilities, from autism to traumatic brain injuries, live their lives as independently as possible. In this capacity, he helps people and manages homes from Springville to Richfield.
Matthew has been involved in politics since a young age, attending political conventions with his dad since his early teens. Matthew has fond memories of going to polling stations to watch his parents cast their ballots. After serving an LDS mission to Indiana, Matthew reengaged in politics. Matthew has lived in various precincts in Salt Lake and Utah county over the past 15 years and has consistently attended caucuses during this time. He has served as both a state and county delegate numerous times over the years, and has held various precinct offices since 2018. He most recently served as his precinct's chair, and is excited for the opportunity to now serve you as a representative for District 64.
